Problem
Managing provider profile data across multiple systems was fragmented, inefficient, and frustrating for clients. Each client had to rely on internal resources to manage data that should have been self-service.
To address this, our team created Command Center — a centralized platform enabling healthcare clients to easily access, update, and manage their provider data in one place. As the team's content designer, I led all content strategy and UX writing efforts, partnering closely with a UX design lead, front-end and back-end developers, and a product owner. The goal: ensure that complex data workflows felt intuitive, transparent, and usable for non-technical users.

Approach
The project began with foundational discovery. I contributed to competitor analysis identifying common patterns and usability gaps in similar tools, user interviews with test clients that revealed confusion around data ownership and anxiety about making irreversible changes, and definition of product architecture and user flow ensuring the content model aligned with how users mentally structured their tasks.
These insights informed early content decisions, particularly around labeling, instructional messaging, and the need for persistent guidance throughout the interface.
Naming & Terminology: I established product-specific naming conventions and created a Glossary of Terms serving both internal teams and end users, ensuring consistency across UI labels, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
UX Writing: I wrote all interface copy using plain language and short, direct sentences; contextual explanations and tooltips for complex concepts; and strategic spacing and visual breaks, developed in close collaboration with the UX design lead, to reduce cognitive load.
Documentation & Onboarding: To support different learning styles, I created written user guides, recorded walkthrough videos, and in-app engagement messages for onboarding and new feature releases — enabling users to learn the tool independently without relying on customer support.

Outcome
Command Center launched in 2020 and quickly demonstrated measurable business and user value. It was adopted by five clients shortly after launch, expanded continuously based on client feedback, and helped secure new website deals due to its seamless third-party integrations.
From a professional standpoint, this project reinforced the strategic role of content in product design — particularly in enterprise tools where clarity, trust, and education are as critical as visual interface design.
